ARREST 2 NEGROES AFTER PROHI RAIDS
Robert Render, Roman Hanks Charged With Illegal Possession of Liquor

Two colored residents of the city were arrested Tuesday afternoon by federal prohibition investigators. Raids were made at the homes of the men on Lemon street. The two were Robert Render, 109 Lemon street and Roman Hanks, 420 Lemon street. Both Negroes were taken before United States Commissioner Arthur R. Hall and arraigned on charges of possession and maintenance of a common nuisance. They waived preliminary examination and each was committed to jail in lieu of $2,000 bond to awaited action by the grand jury.

Approximately a quart of alleged alcohol and about the same quantity of alleged whiskey were confiscated at the two places, the alcohol was fund at the home of Render and the whiskey at the Hanks home, according to federal officers conducting the raids.

Render provided bond, Tuesday afternoon and was released from jail.
