Virgil Kirby an eccentric colored resident of Stony Creek bottoms, was arrested Saturday evening by Detectives Smith and Cowan and Patrolman Ed Smith on the complaint of several small colored boys, who said Kirby had threatened them with a knife. Kirby said the boys threw stones at him. He was locked up on the charge of drunkenness.
