Welcome! The Inquiry Page is more than a website. It's a dynamic virtual community where inquiry-based education can be discussed, resources and experiences shared, and innovative approaches explored in a collaborative environment.

Here you can search a growing database of inquiry units, and you can also build your own inquiry units. You can see pictures of inquiry-based activities and learn more about some of our partners who use inquiry methods. Learn how to assess and evaluate inquiry-based education or look for more inquiry resources to support what you're doing. Or you can simply find out more about what inquiry and The Inquiry Page are all about.


The Inquiry Page Project has two equally important parts. The first is a free website that offers resources to facilitate inquiry-based learning: information about inquiry workshops, links to articles on inquiry, a calendar of events, links to professionals who collaborate with teachers to create rich learning environments, and the Inquiry Units. You may use the Inquiry Unit Generator to produce online lesson plans, project outlines, workshop plans�the possibilities are endless! And you may search the database of available Units for ideas.

The second part of the Project is the large, diverse and dynamic community that uses and further develops the Inquiry Page. Some of us are programmers, educators, museum coordinators, librarians, and generally interested people who meet weekly at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign to talk about the website design and inquiry-based learning. Some of us are biologists, language arts specialists, grassroot organizers, mathematicians, writers, and neighborhood leaders who use the website's resources to pursue queries that interest us-and sometimes we contribute further resources. You are welcome to join us, either for the meetings at UIUC or virtually on the website.
