The hottest and fastest growing spoken word/poetry set in Central Illinois. Poets from Champaign-Urbana, Chicago, St. Louis, Decatur, Bloomington, Springfield, and even Texas. Well known artists such as Sonia Sanchez, Eugene Redmond and Malik Yusef have graced the stage at SPEAK CAFE'!
The fastest growing poetry\spoken word event in Central Illinois. Greats such as Eugene Redmond and Sonia Sanchez have graced our stage. Also, Grammy award winning artist Malik Yusef just recently brought his windy city flavor to Speak Cafe'. We only open six times a year (Sept, Oct, Nov, Feb, March and April) so don't miss your chance to hear some of the hottest poets in the game. Aaron Ammons a.k.a Brotha A-Dub is the host, we have a live DJ and sweet potato pie!
